Whether it’s manning lane markers, starting events, managing call rooms, overseeing teams, capturing photo finishes, or handling results, these volunteers embody a range of character traits such as responsibility, cooperation, availability, joyfulness, collaboration, and effective communication.
Their involvement in such volunteer work not only benefits the events they support but also cultivates essential skills highly valued by employers. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the top five skills prioritized by employers are:
